Per Cisco's website you can now get a copy of their Beta x64 based IPsec VPN client. Statements made by Cisco in the past have stated that there would be no 64-bit IPsec VPN client released ever. I guess they finally sucked it up, and listened to their customers, and made a 64-bit version for IPsec vpn's. Cisco does have a new vpn technology that works on 64-bit computers but the licensing for it is per user, not per total number of allowed connections, which can lead to a pretty pricey investment. Thank you cisco for pulling your head out of your ass and giving us what we need.

Here's one of the statements from an article on their website relating to IPsec vpn clients "Cisco VPN Client Version 5 is available for 32-bit Windows Vista. There are no current plans to provide 64-bit support for the Cisco VPN Client but 64-bit support is available for the Cisco AnyConnect VPN Client."

Girls and Gaming are probably not 2 terms that you hear together very often. But now more and more there are women coming out of the woodwork that seem to embrace technology and gaming. Most of you probably have heard of PMS Clan, which was started by a couple of sisters who enjoy gaming and blew up from there. Another example is a series called "The Guild," which is headed up by Felica Day, that has gained alot of followers over it's video series. She has made several tv appearances and voted top Geek Girl.

XFX, a popular motherboard and video card manufacture, is looking for a Spokes-model to host their XFX Tech Show. It just goes to show you that times are changing and girls are here to game!

I'll leave you with "Do you want to date my avatar" from "The Guild"

If you don't know who ZP is then you probably should head over to The Escapist and check him out. He is probably the only honest game reviewer out there and does it with such style/bluntness that is insanely enjoyable to watch his videos. Every wednesday he puts a new game review up. All his reviews are based on either console(Wii, Xbox360, or Playstation3) and PC games. Enjoy the review below!

Ahead, the creators of Nero, have released a free version of their sofware finally! They must have finally figured out that you can burn CD's and DVD's with built in features in Vista and other freeware programs. Looks like an attempt to get people to buy their more expensive products that add additional features to the free product. This version of Nero 9 contains simply data burning and disc copying features for CDs and DVD. It also contains the "Ask Toolbar" so un-check that so you don't get another dumb toolbar in your browser. Go ahead and download it. And since I am in a giving mood I will give you my direct link I got so that you don't have to give away your e-mail address and get spammed forever.Don't say I never gave ya anything Laughing

Youtube is testing 3D video tech on their webste. The interface lets you switch between a fairly long list of viewing options, be it a particular type of glasses—red/cyan or amber/blue—or a simple cross-eyed option, all rendered from a single source file. I find the "See Through" method to work the best for me(method used for steriograms from the late 90's), but then again I don't have the cool paper glasses. Click on this link to check it out!

In today's world it seems more and more companies are doing the "Free" products in order to get you to buy their better products, i.e. Vmware Server, Virtural PC, XenServer, etc. Solarwinds did just that. They have a product called Free IP Address Tracker that does just what the title says. Scans network sub-nets that you specify and lets you export or enter information that you need such as reservations that you have setup. This is great if you need a tool to actively track your networks IP address so you don't accidentally assign one that is already in use. Of course you could do this with a spreadsheet but this will also gather SNMP information off the boxes and help you fill out your spreadsheet a little faster to give to your boss. Of course there are other programs out there that do IP Scanning such as Angry IP Scanner(not a virus!), Blue's IP Scanner, etc, but it's free, it's got a good set of features. I have used other programs such as The Dude which does a nice graphical representation of your network, granted if you wanted to pay for cool features you could always go with LanSurveyor or Network View for IP management and scanning. Anyways give it a try, who knows, it might make you into an IT Hero!?

This is a how to on setting up your own "Ultimate Boot CD for Windows" with a custom ISO attached to the boot loader. This is by far one of my favorite tool disks out there. It has got me out of jams time and time again. If you are in tech support this is a must have tool to help diagnose a computer or even recover data.

I am sure you all have heard about the April Fools day virus going around. This video below does a good job of explaining what's going on with that. I would suggest downloading Norman malware cleaner then go into safe mode and running this program to get rid of the virus. To do that you need to reboot your computer and press F8 key before you would see the normal windows loading screen. Select safe mode. Once in there run Norman and let it do it's scan.

I guess I should introduce myself. I have been in the IT industry since 1998. In that time I have been desktop support technician for several companies around Wichita, KS. In that time I have came across several tools and figured out a lot of tricks to make my day to day job more efficient and easy to do. A majority of the tools that I use are open source or freeware. I am starting this website in the hope to help others with problems or even help them/you find tools out there to do there/your job better and faster. I am open to any suggestions or comments that anyone may have. If you have any problems that you need help with please let me know.

Thank you again for visiting my website!
